TIM — the Training Intelligence Model (TIM) — is a simple way to turn your training data into clear insight and action.
Most organisations collect a lot of training data. Very few of them see it clearly. Completion numbers, assessments, attendance, surveys and business results sit in separate systems, and every report takes hours of manual work to piece together. TIM brings that data into one place, so you can see what is working, what needs attention and what to do next.
What is the Training Intelligence Model (TIM)?
Training Intelligence Model (TIM) is a simple way to turn your training data into clear insight and action. It is built and run by Learning Elements, a training consultancy focused on training ROI and performance.
TIM is deliberately not a software product you buy and bolt on. It is a human-driven intelligence function: we work with your existing systems — your LMS, HR data, spreadsheets and reports — and turn what they produce into a single source of truth. That means no new platform to roll out, no migration project, and no change to how your people work. The output is clarity: where training is working, where it is not, and what to do about it.
What TIM does
TIM is organised around four achievement pillars:
- Plan with clarity — replace manual reporting with one source of truth, and plan training around evidence rather than instinct.
- Improve performance — find the gaps and bottlenecks that hold performance back, and link training activity to the outcomes that matter.
- Support decisions — give leaders clear, defensible insight so decisions about training spend and focus are grounded in data.
- Increase ROI — connect learning to business results, so training is accountable for the value it creates.
The data TIM brings together
No single dataset explains training effectiveness. TIM combines four types of data:
- Training data — completions, assessments, attendance and programme activity.
- Business data — quality measures, error rates, productivity, sales and customer KPIs.
- Sentiment data — surveys, NPS, learner confidence, customer experience and comments.
- Behavioural data — job performance, 360 feedback, observations and competency indicators.
Bringing these together is what turns reporting into intelligence: patterns appear, risks surface early, and the link between learning activity and business outcomes becomes visible.
Who TIM is for
TIM is built for the people who are accountable for training but rarely get clean answers about it: L&D managers who need to show impact, COOs and compliance leads who need to see risk before it becomes an audit finding, HR leaders making workforce decisions, and business owners who want training to earn its budget.
Who is behind TIM
TIM is designed and delivered by Learning Elements and led by Peter Baumann and Reena Baumann. Learning Elements combines training design, assessment and learning-system experience with a core focus on training analytics — the intelligence work that sits underneath it.
